Circulation is an important part of good health. Chiropractic care for circulation is a great way to improve circulation and prevent problems.

How A Chiropractor Can Help With Blood Circulation

Your circulatory system is responsible for transporting blood, oxygen, and nutrients to the cells in your body. This system consists of your heart, arteries, veins, and capillaries.

There are many reasons why circulation is important for your health. When blood flow is restricted, it can lead to a buildup of toxins and waste products in the body, which can cause many health problems, including fatigue, muscle cramps, and dizziness.

Poor circulation can also contribute to other health conditions, such as heart disease, stroke, and diabetes.

Chiropractic treatment is a great way to improve poor blood circulation.

What Are the Symptoms of Poor Circulation?

There are many different symptoms associated with poor circulation. These may include:

  • Tingling or numbness in the extremities
  • Cold hands and feet
  • Pain or cramping in the muscles
  • Weakness or fatigue
  • Erectile dysfunction
  • Dizziness or lightheadedness
  • Nausea
  • Shortness of breath

If you are experiencing any of these symptoms, it is important to consult a medical professional to rule out other potential causes and determine the best course of treatment. In some cases, you can improve poor circulation with lifestyle changes such as quitting smoking, exercising more, and managing health conditions related to circulation.

Effects of Poor Circulation

If your circulation is poor, your blood isn't flowing properly throughout your body. This can lead to many problems and health concerns, including:

  • Swelling in your extremities (edema)
  • Pain or cramping in your muscles (due to lack of oxygen)
  • Numbness or tingling in your limbs
  • Cold hands and feet
  • Slow healing of wounds
  • Difficulty concentrating
  • Dizziness or lightheadedness

Left untreated, circulation problems can cause permanent damage and require the removal of limbs.

What Causes Poor Circulation?

There are many potential causes of poor circulation. Some of the more common ones include:

  • Atherosclerosis: This is a condition in which plaque builds up on the walls of your arteries, narrowing them and making it harder for blood to flow through. Atherosclerosis is often caused by high cholesterol or hypertension (high blood pressure).
  • Peripheral Artery Disease (PAD): This is a similar condition to atherosclerosis, but it specifically affects the arteries in your limbs. PAD can cause pain and cramping in your legs when you walk or exercise, as well as ulcers or gangrene in severe cases.
  • Raynaud's Disease: This disorder causes the blood vessels in your extremities (fingers, toes, ears, etc.) to narrow excessively in response to cold temperatures or stress. Raynaud's can be painful and can lead to tissue damage if left untreated.
  • Venous Insufficiency: This is a condition in which the valves in your veins do not work properly, causing blood to pool in your legs. Venous insufficiency can cause pain, swelling, and cramping in your legs.
  • Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT): This is a condition in which a blood clot forms in one of the veins deep in your body, typically in your leg. DVTs can be very dangerous because the clot can travel to your lungs, where it can cause a pulmonary embolism (a blockage of the blood vessels in your lungs).
  • Lifestyle Factors: Many lifestyle factors contribute to poor circulation. These include smoking, being overweight or obese, and sitting or standing for long periods without moving around.

Can Chiropractic Treat Poor Blood Circulation?

Yes. Chiropractic care is often associated with treating back pain and neck pain, but it can also be used to improve blood circulation.

Poor circulation can lead to many health problems, including fatigue, cold hands and feet, and even organ damage. Chiropractic adjustments help restore proper circulation by increasing the space between the vertebrae, which allows the nerves and blood vessels to function more efficiently. In addition, chiropractic care can help relieve stress and tension, which can also contribute to poor circulation.

Are There Long-term Benefits to Your Circulation Through Chiropractic Care?

Yes. Chiropractic care is a drug-free, hands-on approach to health care that focuses on diagnosing and treating mechanical disorders of the musculoskeletal system. Chiropractic adjustment can restore joint function, provide pain relief, and support the nervous system.

The goal of chiropractic care is to improve pain and functionality. Many people turn to chiropractic care for the relief of circulatory problems.

Chiropractic care has also been shown to be effective in treating a variety of conditions, including:

  • Lower back pain
  • Headaches and migraines
  • Carpal tunnel syndrome
  • TMJ
  • Fibromyalgia

Conclusion

If you’re struggling with circulation issues or you want to improve or reestablish proper circulation, consider scheduling a consultation with a chiropractor.
